Yeah , McIllroy has been disappointing. Serves me right for being very lazy and putting in no homework.

The last time I had a horse racing rant on here was about 3 years when the bookies were displaying antepost odds and offering 2 places when over 8 horses were in the list , then on the day of the race offering 3 places !!

This latest one is a continuation of one I just scratched the surface of a couple of weeks back.

all in blind wrote:The winner was very backable , he won a decent Hennessey. His odds were a little too big owing to a disappointing Gold cup. Well done to those who backed him.

On a different note. What a bunch of greedy tw@ts the bookies are. This morning they were going 10/1 the field. At the off there were 5 !!!! horses at 10/1 and under !! This annual practice of shortening most of the field at the off is simply ripping off the punters , most of whom are once a year clueless gamblers. The eventual over round book was a whopping 165% , much bigger than previous years.

On another different note , the trifecta had a rollover of £58K. Along with all the other rolled over pools over the next coming 6 days , the rollover pool is gonna be huge. Its one of the best horse racing bets of the week. Nobody talks about it and the bookies don't tell the public. Its relatively easy to get the bet up too. I have a strong feeling it'll be the Scottish National at Ayr next week but you'll need to ring up the Tote to find out.

The above post was posted about 6 weeks ago , I predicted the rollover was going to be the Scottish Grand National however I was wrong , it ended up being the Scottish Champion Hurdle , much much less competitive , I guess they wanted it won. The eventual rollover was £85K which included £58K from the G.N. Did they advertise this anywhere ? Trade press , internet , betting shops ?..........NO !! They have been doing this protectionism for years for the benefit of a Vast Vast Minority in the know. As usual I had to ring up and get the details. I bet those who have an interest in horse racing on this forum aren't aware of what such great value there is each weekend or even the basics of this bet.

About the shortening of odds prior to the off and paying a measly 4 places , I said my piece above. However the Racing Post readers letters page the Sunday a week after the event was flooded rants repeating what I was saying but in a more eloquent manner.

Jackpot had a mini rant the other day on here about another area where the greedy cnuts are ripping off the punters. An organisation should be formed to protect the punters from these blood suckers. There are a few members of the community who object to speaking up against the casinos and bookies. These false prophets can carry on having their blood drunk whilst holding their ar5e cheeks apart.

I see you mention the trifecta allinb with the big rollover, i was out and about that day walked in to will hill and asked what race was the roll over on and they even rang head office and nobody knew so i went across the road to corals and it was the same their.. I just found it a bit strange coz both bookmakers take bets on this bet :?: But when i came home i rang the tote and got the info and i ended up bacing 6 horse"s in a combo and getting 1st 2nd and 4th ahhhhh..

Exactly Jackpot.

Added money ( overlay so to speak for non horse racing punters ) and they do not advertise it whatsover , net , shops or press. Only a Vast Vast Minority know about it.

Absolutely poor.

What do you think about Golden Horn in the Derby?
