Just got a new laptop and am busy getting all my programs up and running. However i have had a problem with betfair. I am running windows Vista and when i try to load betfair it say that the screen resolution needs to be changed and closes it down to do this, the when it tries to automtically start it again it just hangs and i have to shut it down and restart.
Awaiting a reply from betfair. and microsoft postings
any one had any similar problems
Thanks in advance _________________ Poker is all about making decisions. So when you make a bad decision, dont blame anyone else. |

Yes I have, running Windows XP on a notebook. The sollution for me was to lower my sceen resolution and play the "normal" mode tables setting.
The Tables are at best hard to see ,but when I was playing with the enlarged view it became prone to problems.
I don't play on Betfair that much and overall would give their software 1/10 for user friendliness. However , once you get it running you can get used to it. But there are no hand histories and multi tabling is difficult. |

Actually what you may want to try is increasing your resolution to say
1680X1050 and see how this works. Then decreasing if you have any problems. |

Windows Vista at the moment is real crud having worked with computers for the past 12 years its one of the worst "get it out quick before anything works on it" ideas that microsoft have come up with yet. Theres no drivers for half the printers and one of the biggest problems is the anti virus as only Nortons works properly ( and thats crud) this is because they wouldnt release the source code to any of the other anti virus companys, Therefore more monoply between microsft and nortons. I have every version of vista there is and tried them all only to have taken them off all my computers and stuck xp pro back on if it works why break it. Be about another 3-4 months before its even worth thinking about sticking vista on for me. Looks great but looking great dont make for working properly. I cannot even get any dvd authoring or editing programs to work with it, Photoshop acts up infact most adobe products act up moan moan moan. _________________ "The motto of chivalry is also the motto of wisdom; to serve all, but love only one.
