I don't know that I agree that someone is trying to sabotage AWOP, but if they are, then we must be doing something right for them to go to all that trouble!

AWOP in my opinion is the best poker forum and we won't be letting something like a few spamming idiots spoil it.

I am hoping I have fixed the problem.

I have automatically set the users to inactive unless they sign up using the registration form that I developed on the main site.

Hopefully this will work....Unless the bots post that they are an active account when they send through the account details. (which they may very well do) only time will tell.

Pray

If they do then back to the drawing board I am afraid. Rolling Eyes

I couldn't agree more SAS and that's my point exactly - AWOP rocks and someone is trying to undermine them.

Btw I didnt' start this thread .... the "bot" did, I replied to the post, theirs got deleted so now it looks like I started the thread Embarassed

Nobody has noticed any subtle changes in this "bot" though? Yesterday especially ..... there were 2 different ones last night - the actual message (not the link) used rude words (which I don't think they have before) ... also with one the links had words like boobs instead of TlTS ... so that they weren't xxx'd out. ALSO previously, every post had a different message and link ... one of them last night used the same message/link in every post. They never just cut/pasted before. Then there was the fact that after the 1 "bot" posted, another "bot" joined up very shortly after. Plus, last night, one of the "bots" actually started a new thread (like this one) .... like I say ... lots of subtle differences last night

Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but something was different last night.

Detective Pebbs signing out Cool LOL
