Been playing online poker for a couple of years with some moderate success. always wanted to try a live game, so i checked out the AWOP site.
Thanks to the advice given on here I ventured into Stanleys in Newcastle on Sunday night.
I was very nervous, but just played some good hands and luckily I managed to get to the final table. I was the chip leader with only 5 players left in when we decided to chop the pot.
Great result for me, to be honest as i didn't expect to last to the end of the rebuys.
I know that there were at least a couple of other AWOP members there: Geordieniel was one but cant remember the other.
Any way this is just my way of saying thanks , through the AWOP site, to all the players for the helpful advice that they give me throughout the night.

Yup Kaiboble,it was much better playing live than playing online. more time to think and guage reactions.
Cheers The Rock
Jump in The underdog , It was a great night, I had been thinking about it for a couple of months before i decided to go for it, even if i had not cashed out it would have still been a worthwhile night out
Again thanks |

Well done, not my favourite game of the Tyneside poker week but it seems to suit you well.
Try some of the others at Grosvenor, Aspers and Bannatynes when you can. |

great stuff . i m an on line player and was aprehensive about playing live. like you i find a w o p a great sorce of info and advice.
you are lucky having a casino nearby. my nearest is 18 miles away and then it s self deal. don t like that as it seems to take forever and players misdeal a lot.
if you are ever in brum try the circus. that is spot on for the way it s run and friendliness. my first time there i came 4th for£50. not bad . free buffet to boot. all the best |
