FTOPS Event #18: $300+22 Razz

FTOPS Event #18 marked razz's only stand-alone appearance in the series. The $300+22 affair drew 548 entrants to create a total prize pool of $164,400. Notable finishers included Kyle "kwob20" Bowker in 19th place for $1,233 and TheStein in 45th for $904.20. The chip counts at the start of the final table were as follows:

Daniel "imabigkidnow" Kelly - 386,448
Rainman1989 - 376,211
Crisp86 - 359,317
OnTheRail15 - 359,284
Joshua "pbdrunks" VanDuyn - 252,310
ShawnFrie -225,219
TYGOP - 181,773
Browndog19 - 51,438

At 12,000/24,000/2,000, Browndog19 hit the rail. With a stack of 59,438, Browndog19 made a stand with 2-10-6 against OnTheRail15's A-5-8, but it was not to be for Browndog19, who fell to OnTheRail15's eventual 6-5 low. Browndog19 earned $2,466 for eighth. Chips can go quickly in razz and this was the case for Daniel "imabigkidnow" Kelly at the 15,000/30,000/2,500 level. Much of his stack was lost in a hand against TYGOP when TYGOP made an 8-7-6-5-2 low, besting Kelly's holdings. Daniel was eliminated the next hand, but added $3,616.80 in winnings to his excellent FTOPS X series. Once the 20,000/40,000/3,000 level started, Rainman1989 headed home as well. With 110,422 in chips, Rainman1989 was all in on fourth street with 9-2-4-9, but trailed Joshua "pbdrunks" VanDuyn's 5-6-7-8. Rainman1989 could not catch up as VanDuyn made an 8-7-6-5-2 low to win the hand. Seventh place paid Rainman1989 $4,767.60.

Eliminated next was Joshua "pbdrunks" VanDuyn at 30,000/60,000/5,000. VanDuyn's last 215,856 went into the pot with 4-5-4 and eventually improved to a 9-7-5-4-A, but that was still beaten by Crisp86's 8-7-6-5-2. Pbdrunks collected $6,904.80 for fifth. OnTheRail15 was the next to be on the rail. All in after fifth street with 4-2-8-3-K, OnTheRail15 would only make a 10-8-4-3-2 low and could not beat TYGOP, who eventually made a 9-8-7-6-A to take down the pot. OnTheRail5 won $11,179.20 for fourth. ShawnFrie, on the short stack, fell in third place when his J-9-6-4-A was bested by TYGOP's 10-7-5-4-2. A payday of $18,084 went ShawnFrie's way.

Heads-up play began with these chip counts:

Crisp86 - 1,472,812
TYGOP - 719,188

The tourney ended at the 40,000/80,000/7,000 level. The closing hand saw the last of TYGOP's chips go in on sixth street, when he held 2-8-4-A-K-K to Crisp86's 5-A-5-4-9-3. Crisp86 his another three on seventh, by TYGOP paired his deuce and was left with a K-low hand, making him the runner-up for $25,810.80. Crisp86 collected $38,962.80 for his Event #18 triumph.

Final Results:

1. Crisp86 - $38,962.80
2. TYGOP - $25,810.80
3. ShawnFrie - $18,084
4. OnTheRail15- $11,179.20
5. Joshua "pbdrunks" VanDuyn - $6,904.80
6. Rainman1989 - $4,767.60
7. Daniel "imabigkidnow" Kelly - $3,616.80
8. Browndog19 - $2,466
