played in the £150/300 at the festival.was going to play in the £500,but had just got k/o,ed of the £300 and felt pokered out.got to last four tables in the 150,finished 11th in the 300.the former was just a warm up as i had planned on playing the big one.some friends wanted to pay me in.thats not what i do.
the key hands in the 300 that lost me £18000 were these
i was on the bb the rev was second to act and for the 3rd time in an hour he pushed all in for 50k.it folded round to me
here were my thoughts.i had 100k and if i win this hand it will put me on 155k and because there are only 14/15 letf a top 5 finish was on the cards .i looked down at JJ,the cameras were not around but i thought i would pause for some TV time any way and gather my toughts.what i knew about the was he was a very solid player, the hands he played ranged from AA to AK suited on occasion.i also knew at this stage he may loosen up and play AK off...you get the idea, the guy is a solid player.of course he could be making a move.then the maths kick in.i am in deep *bleep* to an overpair,i'm 50/50 against AK AQ KQ,and the other hands he may have 8's 9's or 10's( even JJ) i'm a favourate.any how i decided he was on 8's or AK.then i showed the jacks,he looked relieved.which gave me the impression i was ahead.i remained on 100k no damage or improvment
20 mins later the chip leader made it 25k utg i was 3rd to act and saw the ladies winkin at me.heres how it went.even though he had 250000 chips and i had heard he was loose agg -i had watched the guy playfor a few hours and he had definatly tightened up not much TV time needed this time i decided to see a flop ,it was not so hard, all i needed were no K' or aces ..i felt sure if i push he calls, he had not played a hand for an hour.
any hoo the flop comes K high he goes all in i fold
he later intimated he had QK and would have folded to my all in
and the rev told me he had 55 .well if if's and and's were pots and pans
these two hands hurt me but to be fair i would not have changed my decisions.now come on dont hold back
i can take it

I had a similar problem when the G first opened the new cardroom and they ran a £500. On the final table a guy pushed all in and I had JJ. I had played on his table for most of the 1st day and he had pushed like that with AK. I told him I thought he had AK didnt want a race and folded. He showed AK.
Looking back and with more experience I decided this was the wrong move, and it has stuck with me since (big learning curve) . If I lost then I would still be about 6/10 in chips and well above 10BBs. Also if I think I am ahead I have to call. It comes to do I want to win it or move up the money.
If I read it right that you put him on AK or 8's then you have to call.
Missing from your conunderum is what the blinds are and what the average chip stack is because to me, that would be a factor. You say it would leave you with 50k but more info required where that leaves you in relation to others.

imvho I think both plays here could be deemed correct. If its 20minutes later, the you have 100kish and the bet is 25k so you are putting 25% of your stack in (I'm good at maths like that) If he is the chip leader then there is a very high chance he is going to fire a CB so your decision is do you attempt to take the 25k + blinds down preflop and if he calls your only behind to 2 hands or do you gamble on the no scare card flop and hope he bets so you can go over the top or call the all in. This play also gives you the get out of jail if the K or A comes. Problem is you lose control of the pot and having the get out of jail card isnt always a good thing.

When you were on my table I thought you were playing very well especially the re-bluff with Des Jonas. VERY nice.
