alrighty, after spending some good time and hard earned at the birmingham festival it was a real eye opener as to what we are missing out on up here, there's absolutly nothing stopping Edinburgh (more to the point the circus) hosting a major event or festival, because the poker tournaments held here are going down hill. Any idea's? _________________ I'm behind but......i'll call........if Carlsberg made idiots........ |

Yeah, speak to the powers that be.... Stanleys are the only ones that don't do anything now.....
Maybe a mini festival every 6 months.... Not too expensive so all locals can play....
Just a thought... _________________ I am The Tower........ |

aye mate, its just a really bad state of affairs now, we had a 30 freeze out last night, self dealt, another cracker is that the rules change day in day out, for instance there was 48 players and you can register until 9.45 so more than 5 people wanted in around 9 so they opened a new table! Pure genius! I know that fair do's we are lucky to get a poker game but there is no imagination no change and nobody wanting to listen! _________________ I'm behind but......i'll call........if Carlsberg made idiots........ |

We have a 6 month league running which is very very good.. and if you turn up 4 days a week u have a good chance of getting in the top 10 and playing off for what could be a 15k pool...
The only thing with that is, the games won't be changed in those 6 months.. So no special or any different games until the league finishes... _________________ I am The Tower........ |

yeah i know bud, got a few idea's but they have a suggestion box but it would be better if it was a bucket! My idea would be to take a percentage of the prize pools and put it towards a seat at a bigger event, and or a festival or mini events in a festival style week. There is so many idea's for many a tourney/new structor qualifiers leading up to a main week/festival in feb/march. Lot of work to do though! _________________ I'm behind but......i'll call........if Carlsberg made idiots........ |

Speak to Ally at the Maybury. I've not been up to Edinburgh in some time but he's very positive about poker in my opinion. Im sure he'll listen to ideas and the Maybury definitely has the facilities.......Stanleys have never been good at listening from my experience. _________________ 60% of the time....it works every time!!! |

I agree Ally at the Maybury is a great GM.
But the Maybury is Gala and i think ROSSCO3 works for Stanleys.
I have to say Stanleys are crap for poker games.
They just need to invest alittle money, but they are not willing too. |

| The circus mangement need to get their finger out, they have a very strong base of players playing there everyweek. The circus has made a few mistakes this week with the new schedule. The first mistake was the one rossco3 mentions at the start of the thread and the second was at a rebuy tournament the management decided to withdraw a players because he was late (10 minutes) and gave him his money back. The player in question is a regular (every nite) and was not happy. My view with this incident is that the player should have been blinded till he arrived. This incident shows the management dont have a clue !!!!!!!!!! I just wish a dedicated poker club would open and listen to the players. |
