Major tournament, day 1a. Just been moved to a new table. You have played 1 hand at this table, in which you have called a 7k push from mid postion with 77, which represented 20% of your stack and cracked KK.
You are now sat with 45k. Average is roughly 25k.
Blinds 600/1200/100
Folded to cutoff seat (40k (ish)) who makes it 4k. You look down at 10s, what do you do, fold, call or raise (if so, how much) and why? |

probably just a call to see if you can hit your set, if you dont you can always fold and its not damaged your stack too much. _________________ Money is only fun when you are spending it!!! |

Yeah take a flop...important to know if you are button or blinds though...if it comes 3 baby cards you have a decision to make _________________ Flair for show nutz for dough...better to be lucky than good |

Take a flop...bet out if you think you might be in front on flop...unless you flop a 10 or quads of course...then you may want to get tricky _________________ Flair for show nutz for dough...better to be lucky than good |

Take the flop and come out betting the BB could be sat an bullets and you would be hard pressed to call a combo of reraises or allins preflop but you can walk away from 4k though.
To many scenarios post flop but as a rough guide.........................
Trips? some may check raise, not me, 4k if i hit a set with high cards showing. why give any free cards away and hit trip jacks let em pay for it.
6k ish if no set no-matter the flop. gives you two ways to win. if you get reraised you will need some pondering time.
worst case senario is a stack loss of 22% at this point
obviously there are alot of other factors involved but this would be MY standard rough hand guide I would work to but each to their own
one exception is quads. i would let em catch up, hopefully to a house at which point i would them
out of interest what did happen _________________ Claude os, aperi oculos! |
