I just think it's an unnecessary "gamble" at such an early stage. No doubt you will collect chips a lot easier and with a lot less risk further into the game. _________________ BigDev |

Problem is you might find 5 hours down the road still not in the money having to put it in with a smaller pair, AQ or something. If you know you are going to be ahead then its got to go in. After that its down to the poker Gods. Thats poker. A chance to double up knowing you are in front: Its a good gamble
What are you up against with someone pushing so early and totally overbetting the pot? mid pair? KA
JT - do the maths for me as I am sure you will reel them off. What are the percentages you can have ie. he has a pair making him needing to hit a 7/1 shot for his set etc _________________ "vita non est vivere sed valere vita est" |

underpair is about a 4-1 dog. ak is further behind still. worst case scenario for you is he has something like 76s which is still better than 3-1 _________________ Jon Thomson

Have to agree with everythin Rick says! As long as you know you have got all your chips in WHEN YOU KNOW FOR A FACT YOU ARE INFORNT, then what more can you do! If the person gets lucky, then they get lucky.....good luck to them! As long as you know in your head that you did everything right and you wouldnt have played the hand any diferent, then what more can you ask for! _________________ I don't lie, I just like to bluff a lot! |

Last night at G Manchester in the £50 Double Chance Freezeout on my table FIRST HAND blinds 25/50 there is a raise to 250, a re-raise to 700 and I look down and find pocket kings, I get all excited and go all in and get called by both the original raiser (who had pockets aces) and the re-raiser (who had pocket queens) and the queen comes on the flop. What can I say except "that's poker"?
I probably should have folded, but who is going to fold KK on the first hand? Particularly when I know the re-raiser is capable of re-raising with 7/2 off in the first hand..... _________________ May all your cards be live and your pots be monsters! Mike Sexton.

I played the recent UKPT @ LooTown and AA got busted twice on my table - all in pre-flop - very early on.
Eeerily, the two callers PPs (5 5, then 8 8,) both 'quadded up' to add insult to injury ...... Jeff Duvall being one of the victims!
However, should anyone even think about not going all pre-flop with such 'lovely goods' .... they really ought to give up poker and revert to playing crib down the British Legion with the OAPs! |

LOL at those who voted for ''fold'' in this situation! _________________ "You can't believe that I made that call? Well I can't believe that you made that bet! We're playing Poker, not solitaire.."
