I was playing the £30 No Limit Texas Holdem with 1 Rebuy or Addon at G Manchester on Thursday and I just wanted to post a couple of hands to show that sick cards happen just as much in real life as they do on the internet. I want to make it quite clear that there was not any bad play by the players involved and I would have played their hands in exactly the same way!
Hand 1 - blinds 3k and 6k. I am on small blind. Big blind has posted and only has 10.7k behind him so I know he is going to play pretty much any two cards. Everyone folds to me and I find pocket kings so I push the big blind all in. As expected he calls blind and turns over 5 -2 off. Board comes A, 3, 3, 2 and yes, you've guessed, a 4 giving him a straight.
A few hands later the same player is in the situation again but in reverse. A player to my right (two places in front of this player) goes all in for his last 12k chips and this lucky chap again says he has to call with any two cards as he is on the big blind. All in player shows pockets 2s and the caller shows 8 -5 off. Again the river gives him a straight with the 5!
At the final table this chap is two places to my left. I have 50k in chips on the big blind. He has gone all in for 75k and everyone passes to me. I find A/K suited so I call. He has pocket 10s and they hold up.
Like I said, I am NOT criticising his play, just showing to what extend luck plays in any tournament. _________________ May all your cards be live and your pots be monsters! Mike Sexton.

Yeah there was a guy like that at the G in Blackpool on Thursday.
QQ v 67 (lucky irish guy has 67)
flop 9 3 7 guy with QQ goes all in because hes short stacked, other guy calls. on the turn out pops a 6 river is not a queen and the guy goes home.
He did the same to me, i had KJ he had J8 theres a J on the flop i push all in with a small stack he calls and hits an 8...its sick what he was hitting, but thats poker for you. |

lol yup sure is...wouldnt mind but it was when there was 2 tables left, it wasnt as if it was in the rebuy stage.
Anyways...*bleep* myself tonight.
A guy attempted to slow play aces pre flop, just minimum raised.
BB called because it was only double. Flop comes, guy with aces goes all in, BB calls
Cards are shown.
BB hit 2 pair on the flop 8's and 5's! poor guy with aces is left sick as a parrot! PAHAHAHA, summed his entire night up really! |
