Event #48 - $2,000 No Limit Hold'em

$2,000 No-Limit Hold'em at Noon

It's another midday start for a big-field event at the Rio on Friday. Today brings the noon start of Event 48, $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em, which will take up almost all available space in the Convention Center. Last year's edition of this event drew 2,038 entrants, and was taken down by Blair Rodman, in a victory worth $707,898.

You'll see plenty of big-name players in this one, so stop back at the crack of noon for live updates from the floor of the Rio.

We Are in the Money!!!

In a shocking display of reckless aggression at the bubble, the following hand occurred:

An early-position player raised to 4,400 and Vincent Dulac raised to 16,400. Dulac\'s opponent then reraised all in and Dulac instantly called.

Dulac held and his opponent held .

The board came and Dulac\'s opponent went home as our bubble boy.

After the hand, Dulac moved up to 180,100 in chips.

There are two sayings that are very applicable to poker. The first is, \"Aggressive poker is winning poker.\" The other is, \"Speed kills.\"

Sunny Chattha Eliminated in 18th Place ($25,301)

Marco Johnson raised it up preflop to 51,000 before Sunny Chattha raised it an additional 105,000. Johnson then announced he was all in, and Chattha called tabling to be well ahead of the of Johnson.

The flop came to give Chattha top two pair but Johnson picked up a royal flush draw. The turn was the to give Johnson additional outs, and remarkably the river fell the to complete a full house to Johnson to send Chattha to the rail in 18th place in amazing circumstances.
