Anybody have any thoughts about the 2 big fights this weekend?
Hopkins v Pavlik could be anything but my thoughts are that despite his advancing age Hopkins could get the better of the unbeaten Pavlik with a boring decision as he nearly did with Calzaghe. Pains me to say it as Pavlik is probably my favourite fighter at the moment but the 4.3 on betfair for a B-Hop win looks too tempting.
Also, what are peoples thaoughts on bisping/leben. Couldnt give much of an opinion tbh as have only seen bits of both fighters but I think leben has got a better chance from what i was hearing. Gotta say tho I was dissapointed with only 2-1ish on him, sounds like he has really dedicated himself recently - either way it looks sure to be entertaining and i for one will be watching.
Anyone any other opinions on the weekends action? |

I've heard a lot of people say that backing Hopkins has amazing value. Don't buy it myself I just don't think Hopkins has got a big performance left in him and Pavlik is a relentless puncher with power who I think will take a close decision after Hopkins steals a few rounds or Hopkins first ever stoppage in the championship rounds.
I'm tempted to back Pavlik by KO if the price drifts just slightly more from 2/1 or otherwise stay away from Betfair for this fight and just enjoy it. SHould be a cracker I am also a big Pavlik fan. Would love to see him get it on with Calzaghe but not going to happen now .
As for UFC, Leben must be value at 5/2 even in front of Bisping's home crowd! Am going to be backing Paul Taylor (in front of the Birmingham crowd) vs Lytle myself, just got him at 14/5 on BF. _________________ I'm not tight; I just don't get pocket aces every hand. |

bisping is value at anything up to about -180 imo. i also like kelly +235 (missed the boat on +300) and sokoudjou and liaudin for small plays _________________ Jon Thomson

i wouldnt say hopkins is immense value but good enough! id love to put my money were my mouth is but im usually wrong but there is no way b-hop will get knocked out (now ive said this i know i will be proved wrong:-) imo he doesnt need a big fight just do what he normally does. I thought him v calzaghe was v. close and scoring round for round i made it a draw but it was apparent calzaghe won the fight. But i dont think pavlik is as busy as calzaghe and that was all that won the pride of wales that fight (only imo - so many hit the gloves though) sure pavlik is stronger and more accurate than jc but just not as busy but hey ho the judges gave it taylor twice (wrongly once imo but hey ho)....if i laid at 3.5 would you be interested static? not that im gonna, but would love to:-) |

way back when the card was announced i was liking jardine > vera, but now that vera has weighed in comfortably under the limit a lot of the doubts i had over him given his last fight have gone so anything up to about -180 is good _________________ Jon Thomson
