I'm no expert but I don't wanna risk it all wth A-K, I think you will have better opportunities to donk off your chips.. Like calling when being in front!! Laughing

Hard one, think I would fold to a raise and re-raise all in.
You have got to be behind one of them imo and you have players yet to act.

Against 2 open players maybe, but against 2 very tight players
instant fold for me.

AK I would push against 1 of them.

I would expect to see better chances later on.

You're behind to pocket 2s. At least one of them must have a (better) pair than that. You MIGHT be ahead, or you might have 6, 3, or zero outs. Doesn't seem good odds for 60% of your stack.

The guy with 9k is down to just over 5BB and could be pushing with a raggy Ace before the blinds hit him, but chances are if he's that low he's been waiting for something slightly better. Do you want to give him a chance to double up at your expense? And possibly leave yourself on 6K?

On some tables, with some players, I'd have less of a problem playing your hand but based on your description of them .... its an easy fold.

what's to explain? we have a short stack, we have very good cards, and we have someone who wants to play with us who's even more desperate than we are. shove.

I will tell you how it went.... I didnt do any maths at all in the 15 seconds i had to act, i simply looked at my 9xBB stack and my AK and was never laying it down even with 5 all ins my moneys going in.

The original tight raiser was priced to call anyway and had 30k left if he lost... and im happy if he doesnt have KK or AA so its a must call for me.

Original raiser shows 10 10 shorty shows AQ.

I'm confused with people's reactions to JT's advice. Whilst I believe an argument CAN be made for folding, not only do I think his advice is far from 'the worst advice... [of] 2008', but I would say an all-in in this situation is probably incredibly +ev in terms of going deep in the tourney.

I think topics like this are what forums are all about.
None of us play the same, It's good to see differing opinions
on all hands and possible moves.

I posted my reply has I saw it, to be honest that's how I would have played it.

But after reading all the replies I really thought about it a lot more.
I still think I would have folded but if this or when this happens to
me I think I might take a lot longer to think it out.

As bigbadblob says the result does not matter, all you will get then
is some opinions looking good and some bad.
Next time it happens it would probably be the reverse.

I think the decision is very very close.

Anyway lets get more situations on here to discuss.
