This is the new kid on the block in poker terms and reflects stanley's growing commitment to live poker within the UK. Circus casinos are to be congratulated on their newly adopted poker friendly attitude as it can only be good for the live circuit in the UK. The casino has not long been modernised and is a small friendly poker venue which is becoming increasingly popular. The only downside is the current cardroom capacity of 55 players which means that all the games are close to selling out. There are apparently plans in place to increase the cardroom capacity to 120 and that really would put the Circus on the map in poker terms.
All the competitions have house dealers provided and players are well looked after by the waitresses. There is also a complimentary buffet exclusively for the poker players which is served during a half hour break at the end of the buy in period.
The card room itself is very oppulent and is themed in similar fashion to Monte Carlos famous casino. Hopefully the new card room will be as comfortable and player friendly.
The tournaments feature a wide spectrum of players ranging from beginners to semi pro and ladies are always made particularly welcome. On average the split is pretty much 50/50 male and female and this has has to be a good thing for the future of poker. This is a particularly good venue to learn the game as the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. Any internet players wishing to make the transition to live poker should make this venue their first port of call.
For players knocked out early the casino offer a variety of house games with all the usual suspects and also one of the few remaining full sized craps tables in the country.
